Vierra Communities is seeking a full-time Cook in Bethesda, MD to prepare meals for residents and patients according to planned menus. You will review menus, ensure food safety, and collaborate with dietary staff to meet dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to review menus and prepare meals accordingly.
• Serve Safe certification.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and Supervisor as necessary and implement changes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing food service production lines to ensure timely meals.
• Process diet changes and new diets from Nursing Services.
• Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepares and serves meals that are appetizing and palatable in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals on a timely basis.
• Serves meals in accordance with standardized portion control.
• Prepares food in accordance with standardized recipes and diets.
• Ensure appropriate utensils and equipment accompany the meal tray.
• Prepares and serves substitute foods to residents who refuse foods.
• Assists in daily cleaning duties per policies and procedures.
• Assists in food preparation for special meals or events.
• Maintains stock levels of staple and non-staple foods and supplies.
