Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of RE NXT a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize under pressure.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends.

JOB TITLE: Development Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Deputy Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Development coordinator will work with the Chief Development Officer, the Annual Fund Manager, and the Community Engagement Manager to cultivate, retain and nurture relationships with individual and institutional donors, volunteers and supporters of Loudoun Hunger Relief.

The overall mission of this position is to help ensure that Loudoun Hunger Relief has all the assets needed to serve our clients with access to adequate, nutritious food and community resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development, mid-range and sustainer donor management
  • Manage mid-range ($1000-$5000 per year) donor retention, cultivation and communication
  • Assist in planning and managing fundraising and stewardship events
  • Identify lower dollar donors who may be ready to move to mid-level giving, or estate giving
  • Identify mid-range donors who may be ready to move to major giving, or estate giving
  • Plan and manage mid-range donor interactions, including assignment of most appropriate LHR representative to interact with the donor
  • Execute donor reactivation program in collaboration with the Annual Fund Development Manager
  • Contribute to donor communication efforts, including special communications for individual donors, and donor groups
  • Nurture the sustainer donor program
Donor Stewardship
  • Ensure that donor intentions are respected in allocation of donations
  • Produce donor acknowledgments, including tax letters, thank you notes and organizing special recognition for donors as needed
  • Ensure that the donor database is maintained, records kept up to date and donor journeys well documented
  • Handle day-to-day donor inquiries and needs for documentation support or donation changes
  • Manage Double the Donation matching gift program
  • Other duties as assigned
Grant Program Support
  • Work with the Chief Advancement Officer to identify grantor prospects
  • Track grant application, reporting, and administration deadlines
  • Keep records of grant applications, reports and agreements
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIRED (Minimum education and experience needed to perform the job adequately)
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Knowledge of RE NXT a plus
  • Ability to prioritize under pressure
  • Ability to work well with a wide variety of individuals
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends
ADA SPECIFICATIONS

This position may have to stand, bend, and lift. Up to 30 lbs. may occasionally need to be carried. This is a part-time

position (25 hours per week). This position will work at a desk and can stand or sit as preferred while doing so.
