Job summary

MBK Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Cook to prepare meals per recipes and menus, while helping oversee our Dining Services department under the Director of Dining Services. The role emphasizes safe food handling, accurate temperatures, and quality presentation for residents.

You will work a schedule including Sundays and Mondays 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM, and Tuesdays/Wednesdays 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, with opportunities for professional development as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Age over 18 years.
• Background clearance as required by government regulations.
• Current Food handlers permit.
• Minimum of two years’ experience cooking.
• Negative TB test results.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to operate basic computer software (word, email, excel).

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items in accordance with planned menus and recipes.
• Ensure meals are appetizing, nutritious, and meet dietary requests.
• Serve food at correct temperatures and chart accordingly.
• Maintain proper plate presentation and cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Consult with Dining Services Director on menu changes.
• Follow policies on food storage, waste disposal, and safety.
• Record temperatures of refrigerators, freezers, and dishwashers.
• Supervise servers and dishwashers as needed.
• Ensure proper inventory and stocking of upcoming menu items.
