Job summary

MBK Senior Living is hiring a Full-Time Cook to support Sunday-Monday 6AM-2PM and Tuesday-Wednesday 11AM-7PM. The Cook prepares meals per recipes, oversees the Dining Services Department under the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services, and contributes to residents’ well-being through nutritious, flavorful dishes.

Responsibilities include menu planning adherence, proper portioning, adherence to safety standards, and professional interaction with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Food Handler’s Certification/Permit, required.
• Current ServSafe Certification required.
• Culinary Arts degree or formal vocational training from an accredited institution, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items in accordance with planned menus and recipes, ensuring high-quality, appealing meals that are appetizing, nutritional, and meet special dietary requests or requirements.
• Prepare menu items per standardized recipes, ensuring proper stocking and inventory use.
• Follow government, sanitary, and dietitian regulations and report infractions to the Director of Dining Services.
• Take care of food orders promptly and ensure correct serving temperatures and proper documentation.
• Ensure proper portion sizes, garnishment, and presentation to maintain quality standards.
• Interact professionally with residents, guests, and staff and incorporate feedback on meals.
• Consult with Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef on menu changes or substitutions.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and HACCP compliance.
