Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred or required by policy.
• Valid Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe certification as required by state.
• Previous cooking experience preferred; restaurant or institutional setting is a plus.
• Skilled nursing or long-term care dietary experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Positive attitude and ability to work cooperatively with residents and team.
• Able to work in a kitchen with varying temperatures near ovens and in cold storage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary needs.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and temperature standards.
• Maintain clean, sanitary kitchen areas, equipment, floors, and utensils.
• Follow proper food storage, sanitation, infection control, and safety procedures.
• Monitor inventory, assist with deliveries, and ensure ingredients are available.
• Identify and report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or accidents promptly.
• Collaborate with dietary team and facility staff to support quality care.
