Silverado Newport Mesa is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, following dietary requirements and recipes. You will ensure quality, presentation, and timely service while maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness in a memory care setting.

The role involves reading menus, collaborating with the culinary team, and supporting residents with Alzheimer’s/dementia in a compassionate atmosphere.

Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepare and serve meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs
• Ensure accuracy, quality, presentation, and timeliness of food items
• Modify meals as directed to meet individual nutritional requirements
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
• Perform other duties as needed to support the culinary team

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking (grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking)
• Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health
• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Effective communicator in verbal and written English
• Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, including substitutions
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia
• Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards
• Comfortable working around animals and pets

Schedule: Full Time, AM shift, Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Anticipated pay range

$20 - $23 USD
