Silverado Calabasas, a memory care innovator, is hiring a Cook to create nourishing meals for residents and support a compassionate team. This full-time PM-shift role emphasizes quality, safety, and individualized meals in a dementia-care setting.

You will prepare, present, and modify dishes while following dietary guidelines, maintaining cleanliness, and collaborating with staff. Excellent English communication and reliability are essential for success.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in food preparation and cooking.
• Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Must read and follow menus and recipes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepare and serve meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs
• Ensure accuracy, quality, presentation, and timeliness of food items
• Modify meals as directed to meet individual nutritional requirements
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
• Perform other duties as needed to support the culinary team

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED or educational equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking (grilling, sautéing, broiling, frying, baking)
• Food Handlers Certificate from the County Department of Environmental Health
• Knowledge of food safety regulations
• Effective communicator in verbal and written English
• Ability to read and follow menus and recipes, including substitutions
• Willingness to work with individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia
• Active role: walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
• Reliable transportation to meet attendance and punctuality standards
• Comfortable working around animals and pets

Schedule: Full Time, PM shift, Friday - Monday

Anticipated pay range

$20 - $23 USD
