Job summary

North Oaks Health System in Hammond, LA seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Medicine Unit Floor 2. This full‑time role works 6:45 pm–7:15 am, three shifts per week with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

The CNA will provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and support safety, cleanliness, and compassionate care throughout the unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required.
• Enrollment in a nursing assistant program with first-semester clinical rotation completed may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nursing care for patients and participate in care planning.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and patient room tidiness.
• Demonstrate competency in age-specific criteria as applicable.
• Assist in maintaining supply inventories and report deficiencies.
• Attend in-service programs and participate in unit meetings.
• Maintain clear, confidential communication with patients, families and staff.
• Adhere to attendance and dress code and keep employment records current.
• Follow Compliance Program and safety guidelines; respond to emergencies.
