Evening RN – Medicine Unit (PRN)

Job summary

The Registered Nurse at North Oaks Medical Center is primarily responsible for patient care on the Medicine Unit, Floor 2. This PRN - As Needed position requires shift from 6:45 pm to 7:15 am, with 1 shift per week or 2 per pay period and 1 weekend shift per month, in Hammond, LA.

The RN must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a LA nursing license, uphold NOMC standards, participate in safety drills, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health team.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current LA RN license.
• Membership in a professional organization is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Insure the maintenance of quality patient care.
• Utilize nursing process (assess, plan, implement and evaluate) for each patient on an individual basis.
• Administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Document patient response to medication and procedure, using vital sign record, nurses’ notes, and any other form as appropriate.
• Monitor patient receiving IV conscious sedation as per policy.
