Job summary

Kodiak MWR is seeking a Child Care Assistant for the Washington, DC location. The role supports early childhood education, assists in implementing curriculum, and helps maintain a safe, engaging program environment for children and youth.

Strong English skills, plus the ability to lift and supervise in various settings, are required. The position offers full-time hours (30-40 per week) with standard federal benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• One year of general experience working with children.
• Must pass Tier 1 background investigation and Civilian Medical Clearance.
• Preferred: two years of postsecondary education in child/youth development or related field.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute early childhood education experiences.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum with the director.
• Create a safe, engaging environment for children and youth.
• Monitor and supervise children in classrooms, playgrounds, and common areas.
• Complete daily reports and communicate with staff and parents.
