Job summary

The Catholic Cemeteries Association of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland is seeking a Landscape Technician to perform general landscape maintenance across cemeteries throughout Northeast Ohio. You will follow directions from the Landscape and Maintenance Manager, support safety policies, and assist with seasonal planting and grounds upkeep.

Responsibilities include operating field equipment, trimming and pruning, and traveling between cemeteries daily.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED completed.
1–3 years of direct relevant landscape maintenance experience.
10-hour OSHA Certification, General Industry.
Valid driver’s license.
CDL license preferred.
Willing to obtain Ohio Commercial Spray License.
Pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical exam required.
Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work within a team environment while balancing individual responsibility.

Responsibilities

Implement plans as provided by supervisor.
Ensure all work adheres to safety policies and guidelines.
Maintain field assets, vehicles, shop and worksites.
Trim and prune trees and shrubs as required.
Plant trees, shrubs, or flowers per design.
Operate equipment including mowers, trimmers, backhoe, dump truck, tractor, etc.
Lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
Apply herbicide and fertilizer per instructions.
Prepare gravesites as directed by supervisor.
Maintain OSHA PPE certificate.
Hand pull weeds around bushes, trees, and flower beds.
