Job summary

hce-careers is seeking a Full-Time Caregiver to provide compassionate in-home support to seniors in Bakersfield. You will assist with personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, mobility, and companionship, helping clients stay safe and independent at home.

The role requires patience, reliable transportation, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to follow care plans with respect for client privacy. Training and supportive team culture are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a caregiver or related role is preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification is required or willing to obtain.
• Comfort with housekeeping, meal prep, and safe transfer techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and maintain client dignity during daily activities.
• Prepare simple, nutritious meals and keep living spaces clean and organized.
• Give timely medication reminders and monitor basic health cues.
• Offer active companionship: conversation, games, walks, and errands.
• Assist with light exercise or mobility as directed by professionals.

What You’ll Do

• Personal Care & Dignity – Support bathing, dressing, grooming, and safe mobility.
• Healthy Meals & Home Care – Cook simple, nutritious meals; keep living spaces clean and organized.
• Medication & Wellness – Provide timely reminders and track basic health cues.
• Active Companionship – Chat, play games, take walks, and accompany clients on errands or appointments.
• Light Exercise Support – Assist with stretches or physical-therapy routines as directed by professionals.

What You Bring

• Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, PCA, or CNA preferred—but a big heart matters most.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to earn it soon).
• Confidence with housekeeping, meal prep, and safe transfer techniques.
• Clear, compassionate communication and respect for client privacy.
• Strength to assist transfers or lift up to 50 lbs when needed.
