Job summary

Chartwells Higher Ed is hiring a full-time Baker for the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth campus. The role involves preparing baked goods according to recipes, with a Sunday-Thursday 12:30 pm–8:00 pm schedule, at 285 Old Westport Road, North Dartmouth, MA.

We offer training and a competitive fixed pay rate of $19.00 per hour. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with the opportunity for growth and learning on campus.

Qualifications

• Prior bake shop knowledge and kitchen acumen are required.

Responsibilities

• Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries per production sheets and catering sheets.
• Follow recipes and production standards; use proper equipment.
• Complete production records including waste tracking and shortages; inform supervisor when supplies are low.
• Ensure proper presentation, food quality and serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment, supplies and workspace.
• Handle food items safely and in line with safety regulations.
• Clean equipment and workstation; keep display equipment clean.
• Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain ability to keep up with peak production calmly and efficiently.
• Check that food is presented and displayed per standards.
• Follow sanitation and safety principles; comply with OSHA standards.
• Complete shift work on time and thoroughly; perform other duties.
