Rock Region METRO is Arkansas’ largest public transit agency serving the Little Rock metropolitan area. This role focuses on the safe and timely operation of fixed-route buses and delivering courteous passenger service including schedules, fares, and transfers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Prefer one year of CDL passenger driving experience.
• Must possess a Class A or B CDL with Passenger endorsement or CLP.
• Must have a good driving record as defined by METRO.
• Pass pre-employment background check, a DOT medical examination, and drug screen.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the safe and timely operation of Fixed-Route buses. During daily operations, this person will be responsible to drive in a safe, courteous, and timely manner while providing customer service in the form of passenger communications including route schedules and times, fare rates and process, and transfer instructions. They may also assist passengers with special needs, including passengers with disabilities.

• Provide passengers with general information of routes and schedules.

Qualifications & Skills

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be to meet the following:

• Required Education:
• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Required Prior Experience:
• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age,
• Prefer one year of CDL passenger driving experience
• C. Special Requirements, including Licenses and/or Certifications:
• Must possess a Class A or B CDL with Passenger endorsement, issued by the Arkansas Department of Motor Vehicles or Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP)
• Must have a good driving record as defined by METRO.
• Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment background check, a DOT medical examination, and drug screen.
• New operators will start off as an extra board driver, you will work as business demands, typically filling in for days off, vacations, sick days, call-offs, vacated bids, etc.
