Job summary

Rock Region METRO in North Little Rock, AR, is hiring a Fixed-Route Bus Operator. You will drive safely, provide customer service, and communicate schedule and fare information to passengers.

CDL with Passenger endorsement is required, and you may start as an extra board driver to cover daily needs. We offer competitive pay of $21.73 per hour, union-negotiated increases, benefits, and a focus on work-life balance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years old; one year CDL passenger driving experience preferred.
• Must possess a Class A or B CDL with Passenger endorsement or a CLP.
• Good driving record as defined by METRO.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check, a DOT medical examination, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates a city bus.
• Sits for long periods while operating bus.
• Meets schedule demands of the route.
• Assists passengers in wheelchairs and secures wheelchair on the bus.
• Provides passengers with route and schedule information.
