Job description

Join to apply for the Full-Time Assistant Store Manager role at ALDI USA.

When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational plans while identifying training opportunities to grow the team.

Position Type: Full-Time

Average Hours: 38 hours per week

Starting Wage: $25.00 per hour

Wage Increase: Year 2 - $26.00 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the direct leader in developing and implementing action plans to improve results.
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports.
  • Identify training and development opportunities for team growth.
  • Understand and model company values to foster teamwork.
  • Monitor the community environment and advise on adjustments to maintain competitiveness.
  • Provide product feedback and make recommendations on inventory.
  • Participate in hiring processes.
  • Communicate weekly updates, milestones, and concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash policies.
  • Resolve operational customer concerns in the absence of the direct leader.
  • Maintain safety standards and store cleanliness.
  • Assist with stock levels and merchandising.
  • Ensure product quality, freshness, and signage accuracy.
  • Support payroll, loss prevention, and training initiatives.
  • Supervise daily team operations, escalating issues as needed.
  • Ensure team responsibilities are completed promptly to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Follow company policies and protect confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
  • Stocking merchandise, lifting up to 45 pounds, and operating equipment safely.
  • Regularly sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk.
Job Qualifications
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Provide excellent customer service and develop team rapport.
  • Interpret policies, establish goals, and evaluate performance.
  • Manage budgets, personnel costs, and expenses.
  • Operate cash registers and store equipment safely.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • State and local alcohol handling requirements.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 3 years of retail experience.
  • Management experience preferred.
