When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including supervising daily store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational plans while identifying training opportunities to develop the team.
Position Details:
- Type: Full-Time
- Average Hours: 38 hours/week
- Starting Wage: $24.50/hour
- Wage Increase: Year 2 - $25.50/hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing action plans to improve results
- Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to team members
- Identify training and development opportunities
- Model and communicate company values to foster teamwork
- Monitor the community environment and advise on necessary adjustments
- Provide product feedback and make recommendations
- Participate in hiring processes
- Communicate store updates and milestones
- Ensure adherence to inventory, product handling, and cash policies
- Resolve operational customer concerns in the absence of the store leader
- Maintain safety standards and store cleanliness
- Assist with stock levels and merchandising
- Ensure product quality and signage accuracy
- Support payroll, inventory, and training goals
- Supervise daily team operations and escalate issues when necessary
- Ensure team completes responsibilities to provide excellent customer service
- Uphold company policies and data security
- Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Stocking merchandise, lifting up to 45 pounds, and store maintenance activities
Job Qualifications:
- Must be 18 or older
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Customer service and leadership skills
- Ability to interpret policies and manage performance
- Experience with budgeting and operational procedures
- Efficient cash register operation
- Ability to operate store equipment safely
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational and multitasking skills
- State requirements for handling alcohol, if applicable
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- At least 3 years retail experience; management experience preferred
