Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 4935)

Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all store operations. Using GameStop's buy, sell, trade, and reservation model, the Assistant develops a sales culture by creating personalized solutions for guests and providing outstanding guest service through professional conduct and shared passion for gaming. Responsibilities include ensuring products are visible and accessible, building sales through product knowledge, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and growing guest loyalty. This role supervises Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions effectively, assist with gaming needs, inform about promotions, recommend additional items, and thank guests for shopping.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, including visual presentation, operational elements, sales initiatives, and guest relationships.
  • Accurately process transactions using POS systems, including returns, exchanges, and sales, ensuring top-notch service.
  • Respond to guest comments/questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues when necessary.
  • Promote GameStop’s guest benefits like reservations, trade-in, and loyalty programs.
  • Assist in setting and training on guest service expectations for store staff.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on staff performance; ensure onboarding and training are completed prior to shifts.
  • Manage staff scheduling, ensuring optimal coverage and adherence to guidelines.
  • Handle payroll and ensure accurate recording of hours and paid time off.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and proper merchandising.
  • Fulfill and ship Omni-Channel orders daily.
  • Implement inventory control and loss prevention practices; communicate any issues.
  • Support sales and profit goals, and complete administrative duties.
  • Conduct inventory counts, restocking, and product organization.
  • Reconcile daily transactions and prepare bank deposits.
  • Inspect shipments for discrepancies and record inventory variances.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and address hazards promptly.
  • Maintain organized store records and manuals.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including opening and closing routines.
Qualifications
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum age 18.
  • High school diploma; degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Retail management experience preferred.
  • Retail sales or guest service experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge is a plus.
