Job summary

QSAC is seeking dedicated and energetic full-time 1:1 paraprofessionals who provide direct behavioral support to students under the supervision of a New York State certified teacher. The role focuses on implementing proactive and reactive strategies from the individual student’s Behavior Intervention Plan to help each student access instruction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State background/fingerprint check clearance required.
• Physical ability to run and lift up to 20 lb.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral support to students.
• Implement strategies from student behavior intervention plan.
• Ensure health, safety and welfare of individuals.
• Aide classroom teacher as needed.
• Maintain student engagement and participation in activities.
• Collect and maintain behavioral data.
• Maintain student safety and confidentiality.
• Complete required program documentation and certifications.
• Attend to policies and demonstrate punctuality.
