Job summary

The Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) is seeking a Web Application Developer to join our team. The role involves full-cycle dynamic web application development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of various systems including the IFSI website and Moodle LMS.

You will collaborate with IT staff to determine client needs, build responsive, accessible web solutions, and ensure data integrity across systems.

Qualifications

• Two or more years in IT-related functions or similar
• Demonstrated experience developing web applications
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience querying relational databases (SQL)
• Experience with at least one server-side scripting language (ColdFusion, Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, PHP, or ASP.NET)

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and implement web application solutions using multiple languages
• Develop and maintain web-based applications for student records, class information, billing, timesheets, and travel reporting
• Assist with resolution of web app errors, bug testing, and documentation
• Create responsive applications with mobile compatibility and ADA compliance
• Maintain compliance with applicable web standards
• Integrate data with the LMS and other web content
• Assist with codebase version control and collaboration with staff
• Support database schema maintenance and data integrity
