Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Software Developer II in Kansas City to develop and maintain internal business applications that automate workflows and provide insights from historical data. You will work on modern front-end and back-end stacks, ensure usability, and uphold technical standards.

The role requires 5+ years in full-stack development, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to mentor junior developers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• Developer certifications preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, specifically with full-stack software development and UI/UX preferred.
• The ability to problem solve and think quickly and critically.
• The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• The ability to manage projects in an efficient and well-organized way.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Asp.NET with C#.
• Javascript (JQuery for legacy apps, React/Redux/Typescript for new apps).
• Modern CSS/HTML (less, sass, postcss).
• SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, SSRS a plus).
• Must adhere to Henderson standards for programming, design, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develops applications.
• Gathers requirements from stakeholders and other project management activities.
• Designs and implements solutions.
• Evaluates, tests and revises applications as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Responds to requests for changes, bug fixes, and optimizations to existing software solutions.
• Creates and maintains style standards, designs reusable components, and reviews applications to ensure compliance with standards.
• Mentors and assists newer developers to bring them up to speed with policies and procedures.
• Evaluates and integrates new technologies to streamline and improve processes.
• Researches new programming languages and designs technologies to improve software.
