Job summary

Scion Technology Staffing is seeking an experienced Full Stack Python Engineer for a contract-to-hire, onsite role in Addison, Texas. The candidate will design and build end-to-end distributed software systems with strong emphasis on Python backend engineering.

The role requires 8–12+ years of software engineering, expertise in Python, and experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, Airflow, and RESTful APIs. Responsibilities include building scalable microservices and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in Python (Python 3.x) as a primary language.
• Proven experience building full‑stack or platform‑grade software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement distributed application architectures.
• Strong understanding of microservices, event‑driven architecture, asynchronous processing, API‑first design, and distributed workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, SQL databases, Git/GitLab, CI/CD, and Linux.
• Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration experience.
• Experience with AKS, Azure Container Apps, Azure Service Bus, Azure Storage Accounts, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Monitor / Application Insights preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack applications with Python-based backend services and supporting UI/integration layers
• Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven and asynchronous processing systems
• Build systems capable of processing large files and long-running workloads reliably
• Implement retry and recovery logic, checkpointing and resumable workflows, idempotent processing patterns, and failure isolation
• Design and deploy containerized Python applications using Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Container Apps
• Build distributed workflows using Apache Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and production-grade logging, monitoring, and alerting systems
• Ensure systems are designed for scalability, resiliency, recoverability, operational stability, and maintainability

Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for an experienced Full Stack Python Engineer for our client, a private practice anesthesia management and staffing company. This is a contract to hire opportunity, fully onsite in Addison, Texas.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly capable Full Stack Python Engineer with strong experience building end-to-end distributed software systems from the ground up. We are looking for a software engineer who can design and build complete application systems – spanning backend services, APIs, distributed processing workflows, and supporting frontend integration layers – with strong emphasis on Python-based backend engineering.

• Redis, Solr or equivalent, Java/JVM services, and high‑scale enterprise application experience are nice to have

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This position offers competitive compensation up to $150k/yr (DOE) along with medical, dental and vision offerings during the contract and then the clients full benefits available upon conversion to permanent employment.
