Job summary

Plane Careers is seeking a Software Engineer, Full Stack to join our San Francisco team. You will own the collaborative editing stack, from the React editor surface to the Node services that persist document state, with emphasis on offline behavior and real-time synchronization.

You will work with designers and backend engineers in San Francisco and Hyderabad, contribute to a ProseMirror-based editor, and ensure robust data integrity across networks, including self-hosted environments and edge

Qualifications

• You have shipped both React and Node in production, in TypeScript.
• You have worked inside a rich-text editor framework (ProseMirror, Lexical, Tiptap).
• You have built realtime features over WebSockets.
• You have built an application that works offline.
• You are comfortable in PostgreSQL beyond the ORM.

Responsibilities

• Own collaborative editing end to end, from the React editor surface through the Node services that carry and persist document state.
• Own offline: what the client keeps, queues, and how it reconciles when the network returns.
• Design the realtime transport and conflict resolution behind it.
• Build the editing surfaces agents act through, with authorship and authority clearly shown.
• Collaborate daily with designers and backend engineers in San Francisco and Hyderabad, and answer community contributors.
• Chase data loss reports across networks, browsers, and self-hosted versions.
