Job summary

Plane seeks a frontend engineer to own user-facing surfaces across the local-first client. You will work with designers and backend engineers in San Francisco and Hyderabad to build dense, fast views and a collaborative editor.

You'll ship React and TypeScript to production, manage state across local and global scopes, and ensure offline usability with Service Workers and IndexedDB. You will contribute to a shared design system and maintain performance across large workspaces.

Qualifications

• Shipped React and TypeScript to production.
• Reason about state: local vs global and reactivity.
• Experience with shared component libraries.
• Knowledge of CSS with Tailwind or similar.
• Experience in offline-first or CRDT approaches is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own user-facing surfaces from design review through rollout.
• Extend local-first sync and collaboration editing layer.
• Keep dense views fast via virtualization and memoization.
• Make Plane usable offline and on slow networks.
• Collaborate with designers and backend engineers across locations.
• Review community pull requests and monitor cross-browser issues.
