H1 is hiring a Software Engineer II for the MCU team to build scalable full-stack applications and data pipelines that power our healthcare platform. You will collaborate with Product and Design to deliver features end-to-end across React frontends and NestJS backends in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• APIs, backend services, and/or microservices in distributed systems.
• Hands-on with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL design and queries.
• Familiarity with Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Exposure to Elasticsearch or similar search tech.
• Cloud-native development with Kubernetes and AWS.
• Strong debugging, testing, and maintainable coding skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to features end-to-end from implementation to deployment.
• Develop and maintain APIs, backend services, and microservices.
• Implement and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and indexes.
• Build and maintain Kafka-based event-driven systems.
• Develop and optimize Elasticsearch indexes and search queries.
• Support applications running in Kubernetes environments.
• Contribute to AWS-based cloud infrastructure and data workflows.
• Build full-stack apps with React frontends and NestJS backends.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into solutions.
• Improve system reliability, observability, and performance.
