Job summary

Skill is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to build the Data Experience for Backstage Portal, our internal developer portal product used by organizations worldwide. This remote role requires EST time-zone alignment, with W2 benefits and 401k matching.

You will work across the stack to translate complex data-platform capabilities into a coherent product experience, building React/TypeScript frontends and Node.js backends, and integrating metadata from customers' data platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience building modern web apps with TypeScript and React and backend services with Node.js.
• Comfortable working across frontend, backend, and integration boundaries.
• Experience with external APIs, asynchronous systems, or data integrations.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end product experiences using TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Develop and evolve integrations with data warehouses, transformation tools, workflow orchestrators, and source-control systems.
• Create experiences that connect metadata, lineage, ownership, and workflow activity.
• Work directly with customers and internal data practitioners to understand workflows and test assumptions.
• Own work throughout its lifecycle: discovery, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and support.
• Make thoughtful tradeoffs between near-term delivery and scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate across Portal and client data platform teams to create a consistent experience.
