Nelnet, Inc. is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web apps. You'll work across the stack from front-end to back-end, and collaborate with a diverse team to deliver AI-enabled solutions that leverage large language models.

You will implement RESTful APIs, deploy on AWS, and manage infrastructure with Terraform and EKS. The job supports a hybrid schedule with in-office and remote work options near specified U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in full-stack software development.
• Experience with front-end technologies like Tailwind, ShadCN, Typescript, and NextJS.
• Proficient in backend development using Python, FastAPI, and Rust.
• Experience with deploying and managing applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: Design and develop responsive web apps using Tailwind, ShadCN, TS, and NextJS.
• Backend Engineering: Build and maintain APIs and backend services with Python, FastAPI, and Rust.
• AI Integration: Work with AI team to integrate large language models.
• Performance Optimization: Improve speed and scalability of apps.
• CI/CD: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Cloud & Infra: Use Terraform on AWS for provisioning and management.
• EKS Management: Deploy and scale on Amazon EKS for reliability.
• Collaboration: Gather requirements and deliver features with cross-functional teams.
• Code Quality: Write clean, documented code and conduct reviews.
• Innovation & Mentorship: Stay current with tech trends and mentor juniors.
