Nelnet is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications. You will work across the stack from front-end to back-end, collaborating with product managers and designers.

You will also contribute to our AI initiatives, building AI-centric solutions with large language models. The role requires 3+ years of full-stack experience, proficiency with Tailwind, ShadCN, Typescript, NextJS, Python, FastAPI, and Rust.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in full-stack software development.
• Proficiency with Tailwind, ShadCN, Typescript, and NextJS.
• Backend development with Python, FastAPI, and Rust.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop responsive web applications across the full stack.
• Build and maintain APIs and backend services (Python, FastAPI, Rust).
• Integrate AI models and large language models into applications.
• Optimize performance for speed and scalability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment workflows.
• Manage infrastructure with Terraform on AWS; deploy with EKS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design.
• Write clean, maintainable code and perform code reviews.
• Mentor junior developers and stay updated on new technologies.
