Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a software engineer to assist in designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable web applications. The role emphasizes automation for operational stability and collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into technical solutions.

You will work with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and backend languages, contributing to containerized deployments, CI/CD practices, and security-conscious development within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

3+ years of relevant web application development experience
Experience with cloud-based platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
Proficiency in HTML/CSS, XML, and JavaScript
Proficiency in one or more backend languages, API frameworks, and servers
Experience with common frontend JavaScript frameworks
Experience building and deploying containerized application code
Experience collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to understand project requirements
Preferred: Agile methodologies, including SAFe or similar scaled frameworks
Preferred: AI-assisted development tools
Preferred: experience with big data
Preferred: security best practices and tools
Preferred: authentication strategies
Preferred: microservices
Preferred: DevOps and CI/CD
Preferred: experience working with databases

Responsibilities

Assist in designing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions aligned with business and technical requirements
Identify automation opportunities focused on operational stability of software applications and systems
Translate business goals and user requirements into actionable technical requirements with the team
Contribute to software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, recommendations, and reports
Create and maintain robust, performant solutions delivering high customer impact at scale
Provide technical assistance and share expertise with teammates
Follow software and product engineering best practices for code quality, documentation, deployment, and testing
Explore new technologies and tools to enhance software development
Troubleshoot software issues with support from senior team members
Participate in technical knowledge sharing
Stay current with emerging technology and software engineering innovations
Adhere to SDLC and DevOps best practices, maintaining quality and security
Use AI-assisted development tools to explore solutions, generate scaffolding code, and improve development velocity while maintaining code quality and security
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle from concept to deployment
