Job summary

Families & Communities Rising, Inc. is seeking a Recruiter to own the full hiring process across Durham and Orange Counties, from intake through offers for teachers, family support staff and administrators.

You will partner with program leaders, devise sourcing strategies, screen candidates, and ensure compliance with Head Start standards. This role requires 2–4 years of full-cycle recruiting, strong communication, and the ability to travel locally for outreach events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–4 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, managing openings from intake through offer.
• Working knowledge of employment law, EEO requirements and recruiting best practices.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
• Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage many openings and competing priorities.
• Ability to travel locally for outreach events.

Responsibilities

• Own openings from intake to accepted offer.
• Decide how to find the right people using job boards, social media, referrals, outreach or partners.
• Build pipelines with colleges, early childhood programs and community organizations.
• Screen candidates, check credentials against standards, lead structured interviews, and recommend hires.
• Close the deal and oversee background checks and pre-employment requirements.
• Ensure hiring compliance with employment law, EEO requirements and Head Start standards.
• Use data to improve time-to-fill, sourcing and offer acceptance.
• Represent FCR at job fairs and community events.
