Barkalow & Associates Realtors in Iowa City is seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage financial operations across multiple entities. The role requires strong QuickBooks and Excel skills and familiarity with real estate/property management software.

The position emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment, supporting both hospitality and property management initiatives in a locally owned setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Multi-entity bookkeeping experience strongly preferred.
• Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred (equivalent work experience accepted).
• Exceptional organizational abilities, high attention to detail, and absolute confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records across all operating entities.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor payments and tenant ledger adjustments.
• Perform daily cash reconciliation and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Process payroll and manage related filings/deductions for staff.
• Track rental income, security deposits, and tenant accounts for assets.
• Prepare monthly P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
