Johnson Heating and Cooling Inc. in Butler, KY is seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting, payroll, and financial reporting, while collaborating with leadership and supporting office operations.

You will maintain accurate records, handle accounts payable/receivable, process deposits, prepare monthly statements, and assist with budgeting and financial planning using QuickBooks and FieldEdge daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of accounting responsibilities.
• Ability to supervise or coordinate the work of an Accounting Clerk.
• Previous experience in HVAC, plumbing, construction, or a related service industry is preferred.
• Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a complete, organized, and accurate set of company financial records.
• Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and process daily deposits, including electronic checks, credit cards, and physical checks.
• Handle accounts receivable collections and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Manage progressive billing for new construction projects.
• Record financial transactions, payments, and adjustments accurately.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with month-end closing.
• Develop and maintain service P&L reports at the end of each month.
• Process payroll and ensure payroll records remain accurate and compliant.
• Complete payroll tax filings and other required regulatory filings in a timely manner.
• Partner with the owner and department leaders on budgeting, financial planning, and company objectives.
• Assist with general office responsibilities, including answering phones and providing customer service.
• Use QuickBooks and FieldEdge daily to manage accounting and business information.
