An established family office in New York City is seeking a full charge bookkeeper for a full-time role. A prominent family office in New York City is looking for a full charge bookkeeper for a full-time office position. Candidates will ideally have a minimum of 6 years of working experience as a comptroller or full-time bookkeeper for New York City residential rental regulated and deregulated apartment buildings. Current platform is Timberline; however, Yardi is also suitable. Candidates must be an expert in one or the other system. This is a career position in a family office.
Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the corporate bookkeeping function which include but are not limited to managing the apartment rental bookkeeping across 400 apartments, both free market, rent stabilized, and rent controlled, as well as office, retail, and medical space.
Additional responsibilities include managing the corporate accounting A/Rs and A/Ps, check deposits, invoices, security deposits, cash management, and the monthly reconciliation thereof. Candidate will also register regulated apartments with the DHCR and file annual property registrations.
All insurance, employee payroll through ADP, union payments, fees and contracts, employee benefits, and health insurance will be overseen by the candidate. Interfacing with banks by phone and in person will be required. Excellent accounting, file, and computer skills are essential, along with an ability to interact with the CEO, executive and operating staff, the CPAs, and lawyers.
Other responsibilities to be discussed in interviews. This position requires a detailed individual who enjoys working independently with energy, intelligence, and skill. Collaboration with colleagues on a daily basis can be expected.
