The Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to independently
manage the companys day-to-day financial operations, including payroll.
This is a hands‑on, full-scope position reporting directly to the CEO.
You will own the books from end to end rather than working under a
Controller.
The role requires a high degree of trust, professionalism and
discretion, including safeguarding confidential payroll, employee and
financial information.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including AP, AR, general ledger and bank/credit card reconciliations
- Process weekly payroll for all employees, including tax withholdings, garnishments and benefit deductions
- Produce monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, and manage month-end close
- Manage vendor relationships and invoicing, including AIA billing/pay applications where applicable
- Track job costing across active projects in coordination with project management
- Maintain compliance records, including certificates of insurance, workers comp, sales tax and other filings
- Support the CEO and outside CPA with year-end tax preparation and audits
- Maintain accurate, organized financial records and strong internal controls
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Full Charge Bookkeeping experience, within construction or contracting
- Hands-on payroll experience using Paycom or a similar payroll system preferred (processed payroll for at least 90+ employees)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel
- Strong understanding of job costing and construction accounting is REQUIRED
- High degree of accuracy, discretion and follow-through with the ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Technology-minded with a willingness to leverage AI and automation tools to streamline workflows, improve accuracy and increase efficiency across accounting, payroll and administrative processes
- Notary Public certification is a plus
- Bilingual is a plus

- Compensation: $85,000-$105,000 annually, commensurate with experience
