Job summary

Simon- is seeking a Receiving Manager to oversee day-to-day distribution center operations for a book publishing organization in Kentucky. You will lead frontline supervisors and staff, drive continuous improvement, and ensure SLA commitments to customers and retailers, especially during peak seasons.

Responsibilities include inbound receiving, put-away, inventory control, and shipping, with a focus on cost control, accuracy, and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent.
5+ years in distribution/warehouse operations with at least 2 years in a management role.
Experience with high-volume fulfillment, preferably in publishing or related consumer products.
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and operational reporting.
Ability to work flexible hours, including peak seasons, evenings, or weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily warehouse operations including inbound receiving, put-away, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns processing.
Lead frontline supervisors and hourly staff in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
Collaborate with IT and Supply Chain teams to optimize WMS and reporting tools.
Ensure accurate inventory management, cycle counts, and quality control.
Maintain safety and compliance with labor standards and company policies.
