Job summary

Transdev is seeking a Fueler / Service Employee for our WMATA location in Maryland. The successful candidate will perform basic vehicle servicing duties and provide great customer service while ensuring safety at all times.

Responsibilities include fueling vehicles, maintaining cleanliness, light maintenance tasks, and recording fluid usage. Candidates should have a High School Diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work flexible shifts. A drug-free workplace policy is strictly enforced.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior.
  • Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles.
  • Fuel buses, replenish fluids, log and record all fluid usage.
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
  • Perform light maintenance in shop areas, fueling stations.

Skills

Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules

Fueler / Service Employee – WMATA (Transdev)

Transdev is hiring Fuelers for our WMATA location. The Fueler/Service Employee is required to perform basic vehicle servicing duties and provide customer service while maintaining safety.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive hourly rate: $22.00 – $24.44.

Benefits include: minimum 5 vacation days per year; paid sick leave (40 hours yearly for full-time employees); medical, dental & vision after 90 calendar days; life insurance; 401(k) retirement; company holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior
  • Drive, maneuver, and park vehicles
  • Fuel buses, replenish fluids, log and record all fluid usage
  • Perform light maintenance in shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities
  • Report maintenance issues to supervisor
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years

  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 applies
Physical Demands
  • Work ~10% indoors and in air‑conditioned or well‑ventilated facilities; ~90% outdoors in varying weather and humidity
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting up to 3 hours; walking long distances on uneven or slippery surfaces
  • Manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination required; lift or handle material weighing up to 50–75 lbs. without assistance; bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch
  • Ability to travel for company training, meetings, or support missions
  • Exposure to heavy traffic, dust, vehicle fumes, noise, cleaning solutions, oils, and other liquids
