Job summary

Robinson Paving Company in Columbus, GA is hiring a Lube Technician to change oil, grease parts, perform preventive maintenance, and wash vehicles and equipment. You’ll operate gear safely and follow all safety rules.

Primary duties include lubricating moving parts, inspecting fluids and tires, replacing filters, updating maintenance logs, and keeping tools clean and organized. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of relevant experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as grease/lube technician for various equipment.
• Valid driving record per company policy.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
• Strong attention to safety and environmental rules.

Responsibilities

• Lubricate moving parts and inject grease where needed.
• Inspect and top up fluids (steering, transmissions, differentials).

Job description

Robinson Paving Company, a division of the Scruggs Company, has an opening for a Lube Technician. A Lube Technician is responsible for changing oil, greasing and preventive maintenance, and washing/cleaning of vehicles and equipment. Will perform work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Primary duties:

• Making sure moving parts are lubricated if needed.
• Injecting grease into units, such as springs, universal joints and steering knuckles, using hand-or compressed air-powered grease gun.
• Inspecting fluid level of steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions differentials, rear axle housings and shackles.
• Checking air pressure of tires, adding water to the radiator, testing the battery, replacing oil and air filters, and spraying springs with lubricant.
• Draining oil and refilling crankcase with right amount of new lubricant.
• Update maintenance records daily
• General clean-up of equipment
• Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.
• Responsible for notifying department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately.
• Responsible for following processes and procedures correctly.
• Responsible for wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personnel protective equipment.

Secondary Duties:

• All other duties as assigned or required.

• Frequent use of finger dexterity (+70%) of the time

Working Conditions:

• Noise level is moderate to high.
• Work environment is not always environmentally controlled, exposed to extreme heat and cold.

Education:

• Ideal candidate should have high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

• Ideal candidate should have minimum of (2) years of work experience as Grease person /Lube person for all types of equipment.
• Must have a safe driving record within Company MVR policy guidelines.
