Job summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a Fuel Desk Assistant General Manager to lead the Fuel Building operations and marketing functions, including staffing, training and boosting profitability. You will supervise staff, recruit and develop talent, and ensure excellent customer service while meeting financial objectives.

You will also oversee safety standards, vendor relations, and be prepared to cover hourly shifts when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree? not required; HS diploma or GED required with preferred advanced degree.
• Experience supervising staff in retail or travel-center environments preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the Fuel Department team to meet performance standards and profitability.
• Coach and manage staff according to company policy; provide feedback.
• Recruit, hire, train and retain quality team members; foster recognition.
• Contribute to achieving financial goals through effective people, product and service management.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and operation guidelines; manage vendor relationships.
• Perform duties of hourly associates as needed.
