Job summary

Gigapower LLC is seeking a Construction Manager to lead FTTH deployment in Phoenix. This contract role oversees underground and aerial fiber, conduit placement, and on-site teams to deliver safe, on-time, and on-budget construction.

You will manage subcontractors, review permits and drawings, and ensure QA/QC standards. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in telecom/construction, strong leadership, and familiarity with AI-powered reporting and controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in telecom, utility, or broadband construction with leadership.
• Experience in FTTH/FTTx, underground and aerial construction.
• Ability to inspect cable and fiber placement, splicing, testing and customer installs.
• Strong knowledge of FTTH architectures and ROW requirements.
• Experience managing subcontractors and change orders.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end FTTH construction delivery across markets, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
• Manage day-to-day field operations for underground and aerial fiber construction, conduit placement, restoration, and closeout.
• Lead contractors, subcontractors, field crews, and QA/QC inspectors to achieve safety, production, and quality goals.
• Coordinate with engineering, permitting, ROW, utilities, municipalities, materials, and operations teams to maintain construction readiness and remove blockers.
• Review construction drawings, permits, utility locates, splice documentation, redlines, as-builts, invoices, and closeout packages.
• Perform or oversee inspections of cable and fiber placement, splicing, testing, restoration, and customer installation activities.
• Monitor production progress, schedule adherence, contractor performance, project risks, and budget forecasts while driving corrective actions.
• Approve quantities, change orders, invoices, and progress payments while maintaining cost controls and forecast accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, traffic control standards, utility coordination requirements, and company safety policies.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools and technology to improve reporting, project controls, construction tracking, documentation, and decision-making.
