Job summary

The Custom Companies, Inc. is seeking a Carrier Sales Representative to join our Truckload Brokerage division. You will secure reliable capacity for FTL and partial shipments, build strong carrier relationships, and negotiate competitive rates.

The role collaborates with Account Management and leadership to align freight priorities and maximize profitability. Ideal candidates are competitive, relationship-driven, and organized, thriving in a fast-paced transportation environment where

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Truckload Brokerage or related field preferred.
• Familiarity with FTL/Partial transportation and carrier capacity.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Experience with load boards such as DAT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and secure qualified carrier capacity for assigned FTL & Partial shipments.
• Negotiate carrier rates balancing service, market conditions, and profitability.
• Develop and maintain relationships with motor carriers, owner-operators, dispatchers, and partners.
• Coordinate with Account Managers to understand load priorities and service expectations.
• Maintain carrier documentation including rate confirmations and shipment details.
• Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and improve margins.
• Document communications and negotiated rates in the system.
