Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook at the University of Texas at Austin to prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold foods for all meals and events. You will follow Sodexo culinary standards, work in a fast-paced kitchen, and ensure safety, sanitation, and quality across all dishes.

The role requires 0–2 years of related experience, basic food-handling knowledge, and the ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items for meals and events according to culinary standards.
• Follow recipes and product directions for quality and consistency.
• Estimate food requirements, check production, and maintain records to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or mobility required.
• Ability to walk/stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 35 pounds routinely and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as needed.
