Primary Purpose

Support the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store, and throughout the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates.
  2. Oversee daily labor management and coach associates to meet productivity expectations.
  3. Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflecting our Brand Strategy and Culture.
  4. Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
  5. Maintain a positive shopping environment with excellent customer service, ensuring a friendly and efficient customer experience.
  6. Model outstanding customer service and use department knowledge to offer solutions exceeding customer expectations.
  7. Control store expenses through proper ordering and care for supplies and equipment.
  8. Utilize company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, and inventory systems effectively.
  9. Ensure department appearance, quality, safety, and sanitation are maintained consistently.
  10. Write Deli Bakery HMS schedules biweekly to ensure excellent customer service.
  11. Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, and display of merchandise according to policies.
  12. Identify and correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents.
  13. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  14. Record and report all accidents following established procedures.
  15. Monitor inventory shrinkage and coach staff to prevent losses.
  16. Ensure proper use of advertising and promotional materials.
  17. Adhere to all company policies, guidelines, and standards.
  18. Maintain security standards and personal appearance according to dress code.
  19. Complete required training courses successfully.
  20. Meet physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodations.
  21. Perform any other assigned duties.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Ability to lead and manage a team.
  3. Understanding of store operations and merchandising preferred.
  4. Effective communication and customer service skills.
  5. Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
  6. Ability to solve problems using technical information.
  7. Minimum age requirements must be met.
  8. Certification as a Food Safety Manager by the National Registry or similar organization required within 90 days of employment, maintained during employment.
Physical Requirements
  1. Ability to operate computers and communication systems.
  2. Push or pull up to 2000 lbs using a pallet jack.
  3. Lift and handle products weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Stand continuously, with frequent walking.
  5. Handle cleaning and packaging substances.
  6. Perform repetitive motions and reach at various heights.
  7. Work in extreme temperatures for periods of time.
  8. Visual ability to read documents.
