Primary Purpose

Support the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates
• Daily management of labor (expected live) and coaching of associates to achieve productivity expectations
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Brand Strategy and Culture
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, easy, flexible, and friendly customer service, creating a positive shopping experience
• Model outstanding, friendly customer service, using skills and knowledge of department products to offer solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations

Additional responsibilities include controlling expenses, understanding and utilizing company tools, ensuring department appearance and safety, managing inventory and shrink, and ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to lead and manage a team
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements
• Must meet minimum age requirements and be accredited as a Food Safety Manager within 90 days of employment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use computers and communication systems
• Ability to push/pull up to 2000 lbs using a pallet jack
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive motions
• Stand for long periods and handle various substances
