Job summary

Lansing Community College is hiring a Budget and Financial Analysis Manager to lead finance activities across campus, guiding administrators and program leaders in analytical reviews, forecasts, and reporting. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from a regionally accredited institution; OR Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and significant relevant work experience.
  • Significant work experience in accounting, budget development, preparation, monitoring and/or financial analysis in a dynamic organization.
  • Experience with group facilitation and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience using business related technology.
  • Demonstrated experience with finance systems, spreadsheet applications and database management.
  • Master’s Degree (preferred).
  • Three to five years administrative or leadership experience in a complex, multi-unit or higher-education environment, demonstrating responsibility for financial oversight, budgeting, or strategic planning.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or implementing training programs for employees engaged in financial or administrative functions.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing information from diverse stakeholders or data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to facilitate and enhance finance activities among administrators and program leaders across the College’s divisions.
  • Perform in-depth analytical reviews, reconciliations, and financial forecasts, and advise management on financial matters.
  • Develop, prepare, and assist in producing monthly, quarterly, and annual budget and financial reports.
  • Recommend enhancements to existing systems and procedures; suggest fiscal policies and procedures; ensure compliance with applicable laws, principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of college stakeholders; serve as a key member of the Financial Services Team.
  • Liaise with Business Analysts on system-related issues concerning budget, planning, and monitoring; develop and refine complex financial models for strategic planning.

The Budget and Financial Analysis Manager provides leadership and guidance to facilitate and enhance finance activities among administrators and program leaders across the College’s divisions. Responsibilities include performing in-depth analytical reviews, reconciliations, and financial forecasts, as well as offering expert guidance and instruction to college management on financial matters. The role involves developing, preparing, and assisting in producing monthly, quarterly and annual budget and financial reports.

Key duties also include recommending enhancements to existing systems and procedures; suggesting fiscal policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with applicable laws, principles, policies, and procedures. This position requires collaboration with a wide range of college stakeholders and is a critical member of the Financial Services Team, serving as a valuable resource to various divisions.

Additionally, this role serves as a liaison to Business Analysts on system-related issues concerning budget, planning, and monitoring. It involves developing and refining complex financial models in support of implementation and continuous improvement of the Strategic Plan, rendering a higher level of financial analysis for internal and external constituencies.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Required Qualifications:
