Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Strong communication with clear, directed guidance.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical data for decision making.
• Experience teaching suggestive selling.
• Mentor team members across hourly roles and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise daily store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members to achieve customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote career development and participate in promotion decisions.
• Apply disciplinary actions and recommend discharge when needed.
• Responsible for P&L, sales targets and shrink control.
• Deliver exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Ensure team training is completed and standards are maintained.
• Maintain safe work environment and timely attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
