Job summary

Centers For Independence in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Associate HR Business Partner to serve as a trusted partner to frontline teams, building strong relationships and guiding employee relations, investigations, and performance management.

You will collaborate with union and non-union staff, analyze workforce data, and help implement HR strategies that improve the employee experience and organizational effectiveness. Travel is <10% and the role supports diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; PHR/SHRM or other HR certification a plus.
• Minimum 2–4 years of progressive HR experience with emphasis on employee relations and investigations.
• Experience in a unionized environment is a plus; frontline and operational workforce experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for employee relations for both union and non-union teams.
• Lead employee relations activities: coaching, performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations.
• Build relationships with employees and leaders through site visits and engagement activities.
• Support HR Business Partner and leadership in strategic HR projects and initiatives.
• Identify trends and training gaps using workforce data and feedback.
