Job summary

Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority is seeking a Clerical Specialist – Customer Service Representative to provide front-line support for the Housing Choice Voucher Program in Toledo. The role involves handling inquiries from applicants, participants, landlords and the public, and serving as a liaison for program staff.

Responsibilities include tracking inquiries, preparing reports, and may require back-up duties for reception and data-entry tasks related to RFTA processing and inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of general clerical/administrative and customer service experience.
• Valid Ohio or Michigan driver’s license and insurability under the Agency’s plan.

Responsibilities

• Responds to telephone, email and in-person inquiries from applicants, participants, landlords and the general public regarding the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
• Serves as the Housing Choice Voucher Program’s Customer Service Representative and acts as a liaison for staff in responding to inquiries.
• Tracks inquiries for follow up by applicable staff.
• Prepares specialized reports for monitoring and activity summaries.
• Backs up Clerical Specialist-Receptionist duties including visitor directions and multi-line phone coverage.
• Backs up Clerical Specialist (Data Entry) for RFTA processing and unit inspections data tracking.
• Assists staff with clerical/secretarial duties and information gathering from applicants, clients or landlords.
• Prepares office correspondence such as letters, forms, and reports.
• Meets safety standards and maintains required licenses/certifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
