Job summary

CoffeeSpace is recruiting a Platform Engineer in San Francisco to build the infrastructure and tooling for frontier RL environments in financial services. You will own significant parts of the ML infrastructure, collaborate with ML engineers and product teams, and help scale an early-stage startup.

The role emphasizes ownership, fast delivery, and working in-office with a small, focused team. Equity is part of the compensation package, with visa transfers supported.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of platform, backend, or full-stack engineering experience.
• Experience at an early-stage startup or as a founder.
• Strong Python, TypeScript, infrastructure and systems engineering fundamentals.
• Experience building ML tooling, AI agent platforms, evaluations, benchmarks, or RL environments.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable training and inference infrastructure for RL environments.
• Develop realistic, long-horizon environments for frontier AI agents.
• Create internal platforms and analytics for managing costs, workflows, and bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with engineers, customers, and subject-matter experts.
• Own projects end-to-end and ship software quickly.
