Job summary

Etched is building hardware for frontier AI, designing chips, boards, racks, and software in San Jose. You will create agents that translate requirements into verified electrical and mechanical designs, using CAD/EDA tools and simulations, and iterating with engineers to push design autonomy.

You will drive tool integrations, manage design constraints, and ship agent-generated designs with manufacturing teams, measuring improvements in cycle time and hardware performance.

Qualifications

• Must-have: track record solving hard problems across stacks and domains.
• Experience building and shipping LLM-based agents or AI tooling.
• Strong Python software engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and own AI hardware design workflows from concept to manufacturable outputs.
• Develop CAD/EDA workflows and simulations to validate designs.
• Iterate with engineers to improve design cycle time and hardware performance.
• Curate data and memories from design trajectories and test results.
• Evaluate new model releases and deploy best methods across design stages.
