Job summary

Scale AI is seeking a Frontier Agent Engineer (Forward Deployed Engineering) to work directly with strategic enterprise customers to architect, integrate, deploy, and operate production AI systems.

You will combine modern software engineering, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and frontier AI technologies to transform cutting-edge models into reliable enterprise software, at the intersection of AI and enterprise engineering.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering with distributed systems fundamentals.
• Strong Python programming skills for production software.
• Experience deploying AI-powered applications using LLMs, agent frameworks, MCP, retrieval systems, or vector DBs.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern production infra.
• Excellent communication with enterprise engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy production AI systems in complex enterprise environments.
• Design scalable agent architectures combining LLMs, retrieval, memory, and tools.
• Build robust integrations with customer systems ensuring security and governance.
• Develop agent runtimes, orchestration, context pipelines, and tool integrations.
• Lead architecture discussions and document reusable deployment patterns.
